(Christmas 2015) I am making a lot of art pieces for friends that I think they will enjoy. One of these is a little book that commemorates our Armor Party Adventures in the form of an Etiquette and Safety Handbook.
When we have armor parties, Kenny(purple) and son Kent(green) bring brownies and chicken wings. Karyn(orange) usually brings treats from Trader Joe’s.
One of my most beloved sayings of my dear Karyn is her phrase “Dear Gussy..” Used in various ways, it can mean anything from “oh my!” to “oh crap!”.
I got Steve(blue) a mouse sander for Christmas a couple of years ago. Although I have never abused it like this, I am guilty of using tools in unorthodox ways.
Ashley(yellow) was once working feverishly on two costumes at once, with a small army of people assisting. This is Joann(lavender) and Karyn, pinning and tucking and patterning. Joann is often who we go to for clothing sewing needs, and Karyn has about nine hundred Jedi costume patterns in a box.
saw Kent smelting some aluminum cans at one of our last get-togethers, with full safety gear on.
When we gather at Kenny and Kent’s place, their little cat Misty often “helps” us. Also appearing in this is the not-often seen Jason, Joanne’s husband(red). Who, in actuality, is often outside having a smoke when things happen.:)
One thing we nearly always create at armor parties is a huge damned mess.
Kenny has a fantastic Lobot costume and the little bald head to go with it. He also has an adhesive to put Lobot piece on said little bald head. I often wondered if …..the wrong glue were used…
