I’m a big fan of The Dirty Knobs. It’s a little hard sometimes to find proper info on them, but essentially they are a side band of Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. They stayed under the radar while the Heartbreakers were active, and are essentially a “boys club” of a band; they gave themselves nicknames. They play often obscure covers, and are an outlet for Campbell’s prolific songwriting abilities.
Some friends and I, including husband Steve and sister-in-mischief Beth and “adopted” kid Zach, got together to do some Jurassic costuming at Dragon Con a few years ago.
Jimmy made a great Mr. DNA you can see here, while he and Beth are lab techs. Steve and I are vets, Zach is a pink-shirted Jeep driver, and Merald is a park ranger.
Today is the 32-year anniversary of the original Ghostbusters, which opened in 1984.
This pic was taken at Dragon Con of Steve and me years ago, but I remember it being an extremely fun day.
Hail Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston.
Long may they reign.
Yes, have some.
