Christmas Countdown 2017: The Box of EYES!

One of my best pals, Mel, sent me a box today that I think she called the “Hallowchristmas Box”. In other words, it contained stuff she had gotten me for Halloween and for Christmas! I gotta share this with you guys, because it’s just beyond amazing.

The first thing I pulled out was this knockout of a purse. I forgot to take pictures of the neat magical symbols on the back and the green satiny eyeball fabric on the inside.

Halloween Countdown 2017: Doombuggy Maintenance Technician Costume!!

I had dearly hoped to have a Halloween party this year, but…it just wasn’t in the cards. To make up for it, our friends Kenny and his son Kent had us come over this past weekend for a Halloween-ish get-together. We worked on costume and craft projects and watched Harry Potter movies (which always seem to be on TV whenever we go to their house) and had good food and fun.

Usually they set me up in front of the tv with a table, since I am almost always drawing. Right here we were watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (the best, as far as I’m concerned) and I was catching up on my Drawlloween entries.

Kenny and Kent went all-out on the decor; note the Darth Vader pumpkin as the centerpiece, R2-D2 brownie and light saber pizza cutter. 😀
I am SERIOUSLY jealous of that tablecloth.

Halloween Countdown 2017: The Stockholm Monster Tree!

My pal Erica, who married a Swedish fella and moved across the pond, sent me this photo; she snapped it from a bus she takes regularly. She had told me about the “monster tree” and I was really looking forward to seeing it, but I didn’t exactly want her to be hanging out the window or anything to get it. To my delight, she got a super-clear pic of it.Stockholm Monster Tree.jpg

She explained additionally:
It seems to just be a random tree with a big creepy hole in it that someone decided to paint like a monster, complete with sharp teefs. I just love it! There’s a lot of random art in/around Stockholm though, so not sure if it’s official art or just some awesome vandalism. 😉

Halloween Countdown 2017: The Haunted Archery Tournament!

Our dear pal Kenny used to be an archery instructor at a school. He was kind enough to send me some photos(and permission to use them) of the time he turned an indoor archery tournament into something  delightfully macabre with some building and crafting knowhow.

Grave Yard

I think that wall waaaay down at the far end is the area with the targets that the kids would shoot. I love these adorable little wood cutout ghosts!
They kinda look like they have beards.

Guillotine 2

This is so awesome…Kenny enthusiastically described this guillotine he made in a doorway, complete with robed executioner and bloody heads rolling out of a basket!!

Kenny & Kent

Kenny and his son Kent(also our friend) in their costumes for the event.
Says Kenny:  “I did a basic Steampunk costume and  Kent was Red Arrow. The shoot took place in Conyers at the county annex building.”
