Halloween Countdown 2017: The Bounty at Dollar Tree!

I shoulda written about this sooner; now things are picked over and if you like what you see here you might not be able to get them.

We have several Dollar Tree stores in our area; generally I haven’t been too thrilled with their holiday offerings; it always seems like everything looks too “kiddie” themed or just as if it were made by the lowest-paid designers, which of course is how they keep things cheap. But this year I was really pleasantly shocked at the designs of some of Dollar Tree’s Halloween Wares, from glowing gloves to decorated treat boxes!

You can “BOOP”!

Friends, I go to one of two Targets in my area EVERY day. No, I’m not driving there on a special trip; it’s simply that my daily morning errands always end right at a Target. So,I’m able to really keep up with what’s shakin’ in their Halloween department, or “Booporium”, this year.

I am Left-Handed!

Last week my brother Scott told me a fascinating story. Apparently I was born left-handed,and my grandmother was constantly taking crayons & stuff out of my left hand and putting them in the right hand. He remembers this very clearly, and my dad confirmed it. Dad went on to tell me that 1) He himself used to drive his golfing buddies crazy putting right-and-left handed, and 2) Grandaddy (his father) did almost everything but writing with his left hand as dominant.

In Grandmother’s defense, we are both certain she was just trying to make things easier on me; after all, it’s a right-handed world out there. But Scott and I were on the subject of “parents trying to get you to go down a path you’re just not meant to go, even if they truly want what is best for you”, and this just sort of was an epiphany for me. Allow me to explain:

A Box from Mother’s House, Part II!

Wow, this is a doozy! As my two brothers and I plowed through boxes of our old stuff at our mother’s house, a big pile of comic books came to light. They were all spooky, scary, mystical titles that I remember sneaking into my brothers’ closet and trying to read. I didn’t understand much but I loved it. My brothers gave me the books, and at last I can read them at leisure. I’ll post the pics, and feel free to review any you might ¬†might have read. Here goes!

Afterween 2016: Drawloween Catch-Up!

Well, it has been a wacky month here at WeirdCrest. I just got too involved with keeping things going while Steve is gone to keep up with Drawlloween. So last night, I cracked open the sketchbook and scribbled these out in no particular order, but I did complete them all! They are a bit blurry because I simply took photos of the pages with my phone instead of scanning them. But they’re all there! Behold!
